   Dr. Evelyn S, Berwick's family are also victims of Dr. Francis X. Solano's 2002 wrongful actions, which ultimately lead to the June 2006 closing of her 2 medical offices. For nearly 4 years they watched as the stress of the unfolding tragic events took its toll on their beloved wife and mother. Through no fault of her own Evelyn S. Berwick M.D. lost everything she worked for the past 30 years. The family observed Dr. Berwick being strong through it all, serving 45 to 90 patients a day through difficult hardship and deteriorating health to the point of medical disability. They want her to have her day in court.

   A prominent U.P.M.C. member is directly responsible for his wrongful actions and the 4 years of career ending institutional and H.M.O. reactionary terminations. Dr. Berwick and her family deserve fair settlement and removal of the adverse recommendation placed on the national practitioners Database about her. The following list summarized the tragic consequences of the wrongful actions committed by Dr. Francis X. Solano Jr., the Physicians Health Program officials and U.P.M.C. officials who chose to lie and cover up to protect Dr. Solano in lieu of helping Dr. Berwick:

  • The forced closing her private practice locations in Troy Hill and on Perrysville Avenue, on Pittsburgh's North Side;

  • The destruction of her impeccable reputation and 30 year, $20,000,000.00+ medical practice due to reactionary medical institution and H.M.O terminations.

  • The enormous financial losses incurred;

  • Two (2) stress related cardiac events - including a serious heart attack that almost took her life when she was terminated from Allegheny General Hospital; and

  • Her current state of medical disability from the stress of dealing with the 4 year onslaught of reactionary institution and H.M.O. terminations.

   The consequences of Dr. Solano's referral to the P.H.P. will continue to take it's toll if they can't find Justice. A recent example is Dr. Berwick's recent rejection after she was accepted for a staff position at Mayview State Hospital. A colleague at the State institution informed Dr. Berwick that the adverse  recommendation on the National Practitioners Database was responsible for the hospital's reconsideration after accepting her from 25 other physicians who applied for the position. The Mayview letter simply stated their decision not to fill the position she already had. Reference Document

   Another recent example occurred on February 16, 2006 when Dr. Berwick received another termination letter from Health America Health Assurance Reference Document. Her patients are also victims in this case because they lost the saintly female doctor they loved and chose to see over other doctors -a doctor who still made house calls and nursing home calls, and devoted 40% to 50% of her services Pro Bono to retirement homes, the poor and needy people in the communities in and around the city of Pittsburgh. Are you allow this to continue any longer?
